“Room reeked of smoke.Borrowed Lysol from front desk and opened window, which helped some what but not really.Due to storm in area lost power at 1:30 am.Next morning front desk indicated power would not be restored until 6 pm next day (Duke Energy estimate).Front desk guaranteed we could cancel our two additional days, to be refunded (found other accommodations 20 miles away, which of course I paid for).Now management at Quality Inn Maggie Valley is contesting our refund saying the front desk clerk morning of was not authorized to guarantee a refund.Shout to staff Denise morning of dealing with all the guests and no power.She was very kind.”
