Day 1 - Zagreb

Welcome to ZAGREB! Upon arrival at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Our guide will arrive with the group from Slovenia around lunch time. Then we will take a sightseeing tour with a local guide. We will have a chance to admire its two hills, the upper town and the new neighborhoods of Croatia’s capital city. Dinner included.

Day 2 - Zagreb -Bania Luka -Jajce - Sarajevo

We will leave first thing in the morning to travel to Bosnia. The border area still shows sad memories of the conflict that took place in the 1990s. We cross the Serb-majority Bosnia. First stop, BANIA LUKA, and time to walk through the capital of the autonomous entity of the Srpska Republika, the second largest city in Bosnia after Sarajevo, with its fortress and orthodox cathedral. Then, departure to JAJCE, perhaps the most beautiful town in Bosnia, with its cultural mix, its mosque, its fortress and its impressive waterfall (admission included). Time for a walk. We continue our journey to SARAJEVO, arriving in the evening. We will have time in the historic center, during which you can stroll through the charming Bazaar, an old Ottoman market famous for its architecture, oriental atmosphere and traditional shops. Dinner included.

Day 3 - Sarajevo -Mostar - Dubrovnik Cavtat

In the morning we will have a sightseeing tour with a local guide in SARAJEVO, a fascinating city known as "Jerusalem of Europe" due to the coexistence of several religions. Mosques, churches and synagogues reflect religious diversity. We will observe the great Ottoman influence in its old town, with its great mosque of more than 500 years old and its beautiful fountain. After the visit we continue our route in an area of pure beauty. MOSTAR with its wonderful historic center and its stone bridge that separates the Orthodox, Muslim and Catholic communities. Time for lunch and stroll through the city. We continue to Croatia. Border procedures (can be long). DUBROVNIK, arrival at the end of the day. Dinner included.

Dubrovnik Cavtat

Day 4 - Dubrovnik Cavtat

In the morning we enjoy a city tour of DUBROVNIK with a local guide. We are undoubtedly in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, surrounded by walls, bathed by the Adriatic Sea; its intact historic center is a jewel of world architectural heritage. The tour includes tickets to the Franciscan Monastery with the oldest pharmacy in Europe, and the Cathedral. We also include a boat trip to LOKRUM, a small island 15 minutes by boat from Dubrovnik and home to the ruins of a Benedictine monastery of the eleventh century, popular setting of the series "Game of Thrones". You can then enjoy free time, returning to the hotel at the end of the afternoon. Dinner included.

Note: in some departures, accommodation may be in Cavtat, a coastal town near the city of Dubrovnik.

in the winter months, from November to March, there is no boat service to Lokrum and therefore we cannot visit the island.

Day 5 - Dubrovnik-Ston -Split

We set off in the morning, travelling along the Croatian coastline which displays amazing seascapes and islands. En route we will make a stop in STON, a picturesque town that has one of the longest walls in the world. We continue amidst pleasant landscapes, where the great Peljeski bridge crossing the sea stands out. We will arrive in SPLIT in the afternoon. We include a visit with a local guide and admission to the Diocletian’s Palace. We will explore this immense palace of the Roman times, its labyrinth of streets and views over the sea. Dinner included.

Split -Plitvice -Opatija

Day 6 - Split -Plitvice -Opatija

We will travel to the interior region of Croatia, going through beautiful landscapes to finally arrive in PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK, which has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will enter the park where you can admire the park’s lakes and waterfalls. Take the opportunity to walk along the trails or take a boat and sail through the waters of the lakes. After lunch we will travel back to the coast towards the north of Croatia. Upon reaching OPATIJA, you can have dinner (included) and stroll in this resort town which offers a charming nightlife.

Note: In exceptional circumstances, either due to weather conditions or high numbers of tourists, it may not be possible or advisable to use the train or boat in Plitvice.

Day 7 - Opatija -Postjona -Bled -Liubliana

Today we will travel to Slovenia. We will visit POSTOJNA Cave, one of the world’s biggest caves which is partially toured by train. After this, we will travel to BLED, a stunning postcard town on the shore of a lake, and in the middle of the lake, there is an island where the bell tower of a monastery stands at the foot of a medieval castle. We take a boat trip around Bled’s lake and a visit the monastery on the island. We continue our trip to Slovenia’s Capital, LJUBLJANA. Here we will take a tour with a local guide and learn about this beautiful Central European city. Dinner included.

Day 8 - Ljubljana -Venice

Free time in the morning in LJUBLJANA, where we have time to visit the pretty centre of this small capital. In the afternoon we travel on to the Adriatic Sea and cross the border with Italy. VENICE, arrival at the evening and accommodation in the Mestre district.

In the morning we include a boat transfer to the area of St. Mark´s in Venice, a city built on more than 100 islands connected by more than 400 bridges. We include a walking tour with a local guide around the city of canals. Free time afterwards. In the afternoon you can have a nice gondola trip through the canals (optionally).

Siguiendo la laguna de Venecia, llegamos a RÁVENA donde podemos conocer el Mausoleo de Gala Placidia y la Basílica de San Vital. Tras ello cruzamos los Apeninos hacia ASÍS. Con un guía local conocemos la Basílica de San Francisco. Continuación a ROMA, llegada al final del día.

Day 11 - Rome

Today we will have a city tour of the capital of Italy and one of the oldest and most influential cities in Western civilization. The Colosseum, the Roman forums, the squares and fountains of the center, the great life of the city. We finish in St. Peter’s in the Vatican, an independent state within the city of Rome and the center of the Catholic Church. You can visit the basilica and the museums.
In the evening we include a transfer to Trastévere, a lively neighborhood known for its typical small restaurants.

Day 13 - Rome -Naples -Capri -Sorrento -Salerno

An early start in Rome, to travel to the south of Italy. We pass through NAPLES where we embark (boat ticket included) for the ISLAND OF CAPRI; if you wish, you can take a launch to the White Grotto or take a trip on the cable car to Capri capital. After lunch, we will board once more and continue to SORRENTO, a town full of charm and tourist life at the foot of the cliff. Time to stroll. We continue to the Gulf of Salerno. Accommodation in SALERNO.

Day 14 - Salerno -Paola -Messina -Taormina

We travel to the south of ¨the boot¨. Attractive southern Italian scenery as we cross the Cilento National Park. We arrive in PAOLA, on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea, we visit the sanctuary of St Francis of Paola and we have free time for lunch in its pretty historic centre. We go on our way to VILLA SAN GIOVANNI where we take a short ferry crossing to the island of SICILY. Arrival in MESSINA where we will have time for a stroll and to visit the cathedral before continuing to TAORMINA. Dinner included. NB: Accommodation in the “region of Taormina”, the accommodation may sometimes be in Messina.

Day 16 - Taormina -Noto -Syracuse -Agrigento

We travel to SYRACUSE, a city which for a time rivalled Athens and Rome for its power and splendour. Time to visit its magnificent historic centre. After lunch we go on to NOTO, a small city that seems to have stopped in time, the Baroque jewel of Sicily. We carry on towards AGRIGENTO. In the coach we see the magnificent temple complex. Dinner included.

Day 17 - Agrigento -Marsala - Erice -Palermo

With a local guide we visit the Valley of the Temples, an impressive archaeological site considered the most complete complex of Greek temples (ticket not included). We travel to MARSALA, a historic city with a lot of atmosphere and a famous wine, and time for lunch. We go on around the Marsala salt marshes to ERICE, a very picturesque Phoenician town overlooking the sea. Time to stroll. We carry on to PALERMO. Dinner included.

Day 18 - Palermo

After breakfast, city tour of PALERMO. The Sicilian capital is a city full of contrasts. Stories of Arabs, Normans, the splendour of the Baroque period. We include a transfer to the beautiful village (now an outlying district of Palermo) of MONREALE. The city particularly stands out for the Palace of the Normans with its Palatine Chapel and Cathedral. Free afternoon.
