Welcome to Europamundo! Upon arriving at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Check the information boards in the hotel reception area for details of the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers.
Day 2 - Lisbon

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: City Tour of Lisbon. Evening transfer.
In the morning we will have a sightseeing tour with a local guide. We will visit the traditional neighborhoods including the Belem district, which is the birthplace of the great Portuguese navigators who sailed the oceans in the Fifteenth Century. We will have a look around the Monument of the Discoveries, Belem Tower, and the beautiful Jeronimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the free afternoon when you are free to explore the city at your own leisure. In the late afternoon, we will have a transfer to the Restauradores Square, a public square with plenty of restaurants and cafes. We suggest you ride the Elevador Da Gloria funicular that takes you to the viewpoint of San Pedro with beautiful views over Lisbon and the Bairro Alto. Return to the hotel.

Day 3 - Lisboa - Lagos - Cape St. Vincent -Sagres - Algarve

We will depart for southern Portugal early in the morning. We will see beautiful landscapes as we cross the long bridge over the Tagus river. Arrival in ALGARVE, Portugal’s southern region. We will visit the historic town of LAGOS, its port from which the Portuguese vessels sailed off to Brazil, and its walled historic centre. Lunchtime. We will visit VILA MOURA and its exclusive marina in the afternoon. Afterwards, a visit to ALBUFEIRA, a beautiful coastal town where you can enjoy the beach or stroll around its charming historic centre.NB: Accommodation in Albufeira during the high season may sometimes be in hotels located in nearby cities.
Day 4 - Algarve - Faro - Mertola - Evora

We will travel to FARO, Algarve’s quiet capital city. We will continue our trip to Alentejo. We will visit MERTOLA on the bank of Guadiana river, an old Muslim town whose church was formerly a mosque; we will enjoy the sight of its walls and white streets. Arrival in ÉVORA at lunchtime. This town was declared a World Heritage Site due to its white streets, its Renaissance palaces and its cathedral. The ticket to the spectacular Capela dos Ossos (Chapel of Bones) is included. This chapel was built with 5,000 skeletons! You may also relax at the hotel’s swimming pool.
Day 5 - Évora - Marvao - Castelo da Vide - Tomar - Fátima

On this day we will travel through Alentejo’s beautiful landscapes. We will stop in MARVAO, a quite picturesque little walled town that offers a fantastic vista of the region. Afterwards, we will visit CASTELO DA VIDE, its castle and old Jewish quarter. We will have a chance to visit the old synagogue (a museum today) or wander around this town’s maze of quaint streets. After lunch, we will continue to TOMAR, a town over which CONVENT OF CHRIST looms, an old castle-convent where Templar Knights lived. Ticket included. Arrival in FATIMA. We will first go to ALJUSTREL, the village where the three little shepherds were born. We will have a chance to visit Casa de Lucia. Afterwards, visit to SANTUARIO DE FATIMA where you may watch the Procissão das Velas (Candlelight Procession, not celebrated in winter). Dinner included.
Day 6 - Fatima - Porto

We will travel to northern Portugal. Arrival PORTO – Portugal’s second largest city – around eleven in the morning. Sightseeing tour of this city on the bank of Duero river and its historic centre included. We also include a visit to the old cellars. Free time.
Day 7 - Porto -Bom Jesus Sanctuary -Cambados -Santiago de Compostela

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Cable car ride to the Bom Jesus Sanctuary. Wine and Mussels tasting during the boat trip. Visit to Santiago de Compostela.
On this day we will travel through beautiful landscapes. In the city of BRAGA, we will get on the world’s oldest cable car to ride up to the Santuário do BOM JESÚS, where we will enjoy its gorgeous views. We recommend trekking back down in order to admire its beautiful stairway. Then, we will resume our trip and head to Galicia. We will visit the historic town of CAMBADOS in Rías Baixas where we will go on a glass bottom boat trip in which we will learn about the production of mussels and oysters. Wine and mussel tasting included. At lunchtime we will arrive in SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, where we will go on a guided tour with a local guide. This town was a famous pilgrimage destination since the Middle Ages.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Beautiful landscapes. Visit Oviedo. We will travel along the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) to Castile.
In LUGO we will have time to visit the historic town center and Roman walls, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will make a stop on route in O´CEBREIRO, a small Galician stone village. Arrival in LEÓN at lunchtime, where we will have time to visit the Gothic cathedral with its stained-glass windows and to stroll through the historic town center.
After that, we will cross the Cantabrian Range mountains on our way to Asturias. Arrival in OVIEDO in the mid-afternoon. We will include (occasionally on Tuesday mornings) an hour-and-a-half visit of the city with a local guide in which we will visit its 9th century cathedral, Calatrava Congressional Palace, Campoamor Theatre and Calle de la Rua.
In LUGO we will have time to visit the historic town center and Roman walls, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will travel to Picos de Europa. We will visit Basílica de COVADONGA, which is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Then, we will resume our journey following the coastline to SANTILLANA, one of Spain’s most beautiful towns, and we will visit its well-preserved medieval quarter. We will also visit the National Museum and Research Centre of ALTAMIRA (ticket included) located in the vicinity of this town. We will later travel to SANTANDER, the region’s capital, a coastal city with amazing views and beaches. We will explore and learn about this elegant city and beautiful bay on the included panoramic city tour.
NOTE: On some high occupancy dates (especially in summer from May to mid September), some groups can be accommodated in Bilbao.

Seguimos la autopista junto a la costa del Cantábrico, con paisajes de gran belleza entre la montaña y el mar. BILBAO, llegada a la mayor ciudad del País Vasco. Incluimos a la llegada con guía local, una corta visita de la ciudad: área del Guggenheim, casco viejo, Catedral... Luego tendrá usted tiempo libre para tomar unos "pintxos".Continuación hacia MADRID. Llegada al final de la tarde. Por la noche le incluimos un traslado paseo a la Plaza Mayor donde podrán aprovechar para tomar unos vinos en algún mesón.

Incluimos una excursión a la histórica ciudad de TOLEDO, protegida por el río Tajo. Sus calles medievales nos hablan de historias de cristianos, judíos y musulmanes. Tarde libre en MADRID. Esta noche, si lo desea, le proponemos opcionalmente un espectáculo flamenco.
