“We were at the Fairmont for afternoon tea to celebrate a family member's birthday yesterday. For the most part it was a great day in a great location. The food was fantastic, the staff members were good. They were very accommodating to dietary requirements we had.
Then we did not have enough tea strainers at the table. We had to ask the staff for extra ones. When we got the extra ones they came dirty with tea leaves still stuck to them. Then later we noticed a staff member go up to a table that the customers had finished their afternoon tea and left. The staff member took the lids off 2 pots of tea, took them to the tea making station and put them on 2 new pots of tea without even washing or cleaning them. In the times we are living in at the moment we thought this was an appalling thing to do. It then made us think about how clean everything else was and how serious the Hotel takes its cleaning standards!!
After witnessing that I highly doubt I will be back to the Fairmont Hotel. It's a shame that two questionable actions can put you off so much. We also had to ask twice for more tea the staff members were not very attentive.
The fire alarm also went off as we were finishing our Afternoon tea. The staff members did not direct us to an assembly point they just stood outside the door in a group talking.
All in it was a very mixed experience with good and very bad bits. I hope it's better for other customers.”

“Throughout our stay we had to ask for things three times before it gets done 😅
Beautiful setting, great access to walks and food is decent too. If you are looking for proper cocktails then you might be disappointed, they serve most things from syrups and don't have a great list on the menu.
Room is beautiful but the bathroom seems to be one that is problematic. The shower area has orange slime just like the last time we went. Some fixing on the wall are loose as well.”
