Good hotel in a nice location. The food was very tasty. The only criticism: Our room was a bit "noisy", because there was a path right next to the balcony. Clean and well-kept area.

Todo excelente, trato de los trabajadores, habitaciones, instalaciones, todo excelente. El personal al completo.. chicas de la limpieza, camareros, personal de piscina excelente, nos hicieron estar muy a gusto. La comida muy buena y la varían cada día, excelente. Nos preocupaba que estuviese algo lejos pero tienen servicio de bus gratuito al centro de la ciudad

All excellent, treatment of workers, rooms, facilities, all excellent. The entire staff .. housekeeping girls, waiters, excellent pool staff, made us very comfortable. The food is very good and they vary every day, excellent. We were worried that it was a bit far away but they have free bus service to the city center

Excellent! Nice large rooms, extremely rich and tasty buffet. Vegetarians will find plenty of choice here, not "canned vegetables", but creative, fresh vegetables and vegetarian dishes, lovingly prepared.

It's a shame that you are so inflexible when it comes to forgiving your room. My parents, who are over 70 years old, were looking forward to their 15th vacation in this house. As in previous years, after booking with Tui last week, they wanted to personally reserve a room on the upper floor. Here one was not at all accommodating. It was replied with arrogance that the room had already been planned. Very unfortunate for my parents. They have been promised a room on the first floor, which is by no means what my family wants - as these are easily accessible and too unsafe and noisy for them. Although they were promised a conversation with the director from 10 on the next day, he obviously denied himself and asked for a later call. That doesn't seem customer-friendly to me and one seems to refrain from customer loyalty. Not at all understandable.In any case, I will definitely not book the hotel with my family, although I have already had a wonderful stay there myself. My parents are now trying to cancel and rebook. One clearly imagines a good start to the holiday differently.

We love this hotel. Welcoming personnel, always ready to help. The food is top. Our room is comfortable. It's great to have a settee and a terrace to relax. The shuttle to Puerto de la Cruz is very convenient. Our second stay and probably not the last!

We stayed there for a week and had an apartment with a sea view. We had booked half board as catering.The hotel is really recommendable. It was newly renovated, the rooms are really great, if a little small. All staff is super friendly and competent. The meal was excellent. There are also wellness offers that we didn't take advantage of. We are considering coming back next year ...

We have been for the fourth time in Riu Garoe. As always it was a great holiday. The renovation of the hotel is completely successful. The staff very nice and competent. Food delicious and varied. Great new gym. All employees a merry christmas and a healthy year 2020.👍👍👍

Super nice and very clean resort !! It was great to spend a week here, we would like to stay longer if we could! The room was perfect, enough present what you would need, you could get towels every time on presentation of a designated card. The pool was wonderful. Cozy sitting at the bar was nice, the buffet for breakfast and dinner was more than good! Definitely recommended to go there !! :-)

Excelente hotel, hemos estado alojados 5 días en régimen de media pensión, desayuno y cena. El hotel tiene unas instalaciones excelentes, piscina exterior, interior, sauna, gimnasio, terrazas fantásticas,... Tanto el desayuno como la cena cuentan con una excelente variedad de productos, de calidad, que varían todos los días, aumentando de esta manera el nivel de las comidas. Pero en lo que realmente destaca este hotel es en el equipo humano, solo podemos dar las gracias a todos los trabajadores del hotel que han hecho que nuestra estancia fuera de sobresaliente alto. La situación del hotel es formidable, una zona residencial de las mejores de puerto de la Cruz, es una zona tranquila. En diez minutos andando estás en el pueblo, no obstante hay un servicio de guagua del hotel cada poco tiempo. Este verano, de abril a julio, van a reformar el hotel, os lo recomiendo encarecidamente.Gracias Juan Carlos por tu excelente profesionalidad, al igual que Gustavo en la piscina y el jefe de cocina, paisano de mi mujer, hacéis la estancia más agradable aún si cabe. Sin duda, el año que viene intentaremos repetir y comprobar esa renovación que seguro será excelente.

Hotel recién reformado por completo (reapertura 15 julio 2019), muy limpio, ubicación tranquila a 15-20 minutos andando del meollo de Pto. de la Cruz. Se aparca con bastante facilidad en la calle.Habitaciones no demasiado grandes pero confortables, con terraza y con acabados de calidad: baño muy completo con plato de ducha muy amplio y mampara de cristal, colchones de gran calidad, minibar, caja fuerte, tendedero en la terraza...Buffet de desayuno y cena muy completos con calidad más que aceptable. Poca animación para niños, aunque hacen lo que pueden y disponen de piscina, parque infantil, minigolf, ping-pong y pista de tenis.Personal excelente, muy muy atentos y simpáticos en general. Agradecidos a todos (y son muchos) por la excelente estancia que nos han brindado los 9 días que estuvimos, pero mencionar especialmente por sus consejos turísticos y su amabilidad a Macu de recepción, la comandanta Elena y, sobre todo, al socorrista Gustavo.En resumen, excelentísimo hotel con una relación calidad/precio insuperables (al menos al precio que lo cazamos nosotros: 125€ por día en habitación doble con cama supletoria y en régimen MP).

Personal super amable y atento. Habitaciones espectaculares con poco ruido de fuera y todas las comodidades. La comida y el desayuno muy bueno y variado, la única pega el café que no hay quien lo tome y el wifi que en la habitación que yo me aloje no funcionaba, en el resto no lo sé. Por otro lado, las instalaciones en general son espectaculares. Todo genial

Hotel situado en la zona más exclusiva del Puerto de la Cruz" LA PAZ " en esta zona se encuentra entre otros el Jardín Botánico y el Hotel Botánico.(**** Estrellas) Recién reformado,muy tranquilo,albornoz en las habitaciones,un precioso y bonito jardín con ajedrez gigante,mini-golf,zona de juegos infantiles,pista de tenis,piscina climatizada exterior,sauna y piscina interior, dispone de un servicio de bus que baja al Puerto de la Cruz.En el tema de la restauración el bufett variado y los platos de plancha elaborados delante tuyo al momento. Bien presentado y muy cuidado en todo momento por los cocineros.Todo el personal es muy amable y profesional " cosa esta que se agradece a estas alturas ", mención especial a su Director:Luis Hernández, como a su Jefe de Recepción:Emiliano del Pino,así como el resto de la plantilla ya sea de recepción como camareros, limpiadoras, cocineros, etc." esto va implícito en los genes de todos los empleados del hotel".En Navidad realizan cenas de Gala y el día 25 llega Papa Noel al hotel para los niños que se encuentran hospedados.A nuestro hijo le conocen desde chiquitito y cada vez que le vuelven a ver aunque ahora ya siendo un adolescente le siguen dando grandes muestras de cariño.Es nuestro hotel de referencia donde pasamos la Noche Buena desde el año 2007 aunque lamentablemente estos 2 últimos años no ha sido posible pasar la Navidad con esa nuestra familia que es la plantilla de este maravilloso hotel.Ecuación para valorar este Hotel: HOTEL RIU +Trato personal y profesional de toda su gran plantilla = EXITO SEGURO.

Instalaciones buenas aunque las habitaciones un poco anticuadas, estoy segura que con la renovacion que haran a partir del 29 de abril, quedaran perfectas. Atencion y limpieza excelente. Comida bien para un 4 estrellas. La comida muy repetitiva, quitando las papas con mojo y el membrillo de guayaba no habia ningun plato tipico canario, he echado de menos las cenas tematizadas donde cada dia puedes probar especialidades diferentes de cada region o pais. Hemos ido en Semana Santa y quitando dos adornos "conejitas" que habia en recepcion no habia nada mas en todo el hotel a mi me hubiera gustado que el domingo de Pascua por lo menos hubiera sido mas especial, no solo en la decoracion sino tambien en el menu. No habia las tipicas monas de pascua ni ningun postre tipico de la celebracion, tampoco huevitos de chocolare en la mesa,... en fin ningun detalle y sinceramente en ese aspecto a mi no me gusto. A veces un pequeño detalle crea un gran recuerdo.He de decir que el hotel es recomendable aunque no iria con niños.

Lovely hotel staff are very friendly and look after you well they have the usual things ie: gym,sauna,pool crazy golf and tennis and squash court, my only negative was the beds. Two single beds just pushed together and kept separating so you felt like you would fall through the centre at night but apart from that one thing I enjoyed my stay and would visit again

November 2018 - We stayed for 9 days in this hotel. During the day we rented a car and did some hiking tours. Madeira is an awesome island for hiking and exploration :)In the evenig we enjoyed the dinner in the hotel. The food was good and the waiters are very friendly.But there is one waiter named Hugo (he has a tribal tatoo on his wrist), who is just outstanding. A world class waiter. Very empathic, efficient, attentively who makes us feel as more than just guests in a hotel.And it's not only us, we noticed that a lot of guests who had their last evening in the hotel said goodbye personally and thanked him for his awesome service.If I'm the manager of the hotel I would do anything to keep him, give him a raise or /and asked him to train the other waiters or new employees.We've been in a lot of hotels but never met a guy like him.He would be one of the reasons to stay in this Riu Palace for our next Madeira vacation.If you are new guests in this Riu Palace and have the priviledge to get his service, you will know what I mean.Btw. his name appears in some of the reviews :) because he is soo good.Hugo, if you read this. After 6 years for the 4th time again an experience! We hope the renovated rooms with walk in shower will be great. It has been great again we only had bad luck with the weather but your staff made up for us that largely made us a big thank you and will come back next year but then in may 😍 the chef knows how to cut meat. You can see that a lot have been improved I am looking forward to the new pool bar card without any mistakes

The staff is just great. The kitchen is excellent. The staff really enjoy their work. Since the hotel is rather booked by mature audience, it is pleasantly quiet and relaxed. Recommendation on my part. It is now being modernized from 29.04.-17.07.2019. The rooms are equipped with shower instead of bathtub and the rooms are brighter and friendlier in time.

Excellent hotel, we have been staying 5 days in half board, breakfast and dinner. The hotel has excellent facilities, outdoor pool, indoor, sauna, gym, fantastic terraces, ... Both breakfast and dinner have an excellent variety of quality products, which vary every day, increasing in this way the level of meals. But in what really stands out this hotel is in the human team, we can only thank all the hotel workers who have made our stay exceedingly high. The situation of the hotel is formidable, a residential area of the best of Puerto de la Cruz, it is a quiet area. In ten minutes walking you are in the town, however there is a bus service from the hotel every so often. This summer, from April to July, they are going to reform the hotel, I highly recommend it.Thanks Juan Carlos for your excellent professionalism, like Gustavo in the pool and the head chef, my wife's countryman, you make your stay even more pleasant if possible. Without a doubt, next year we will try to repeat and verify that renovation that will surely be excellent.

Hotel recently completely renovated (reopening July 15, 2019), very clean, quiet location 15-20 minutes walk from the heart of Pto. De la Cruz. You park quite easily on the street.Not too big but comfortable rooms, with a terrace and with quality finishes: a very complete bathroom with a very large shower tray and glass screen, high quality mattresses, minibar, safe, clothes line on the terrace ...Very complete breakfast and dinner buffet with more than acceptable quality. Little entertainment for children, although they do what they can and have a swimming pool, playground, miniature golf, table tennis and tennis court.Excellent staff, very very attentive and friendly in general. We are grateful to all (and there are many) for the excellent stay they have given us during the 9 days we stayed, but to mention especially Macu at reception, Commander Elena and, above all, the lifeguard Gustavo for their tourist advice and their kindness.In short, an excellent hotel with an unbeatable quality / price ratio (at least at the price that we hunted for it: € 125 per day in a double room with an extra bed and in the HB regime).

Beautiful relaxed, hideaway just what we needed. Staff were great, friendly and very accommodating. Although we didn't realise until the next morning, they largely catered for senior citizens so the hotel itself is very quiet. There is evening entertainment provided most evenings. Overall great, enjoyable stay! Thank you very much!

Un hotel espectacular. Buenas instalaciones, muy buena comida y un personal encantador. Viajamos con una niña de 16 meses y son todo facilidades.Como único defecto está un poco alejado del centro de Puerto de la Cruz pero el hotel pone un microbús para subir y bajar.Repetiremos, sin duda.

El peor hotel 4 estrellas en el que he estado, por no decir el peor hotel. He estado en hoteles 2 estrellas muchísimo mejor que este...Instalaciones muy antiguas, habitaciones sucias con restos de pelos en bañera, lavabo y baño, extras que deberían estar incluidos como nevera etc hay que pagar para tenerlos...Trato regular y por teléfono nefasto... sin duda no repetiré nunca.

Por ser un hotel de cuatro estrelles espectacular, casi es un cinco.Para aparcar es un poco difícil, pero nosotras la semana que estuvimos alojados, siempre encontramos sitio rápidamente, en las calles cercanas al hotel. El hotel tiene servicio de bus para ir a la playa, ya que estasituado un poco apartada de ella. El servicio un 11, todos muy profesionales, muy atentos y muy serviciales. Las instalaciones muy limpias y con muchísimo servicios....tenis, golf, piscina, sauna, sala de fitness, Ping-pon, billar, etc, etc. La habitación amplia, limpia, los colchones muy bien, un poco duros pero que muy bien. Aseo amplio, pero creo que tendrían que cambiar la bañera, por una dutxa, seria mucho mejor. Otra apreciación, el cojín demasiado blando.Instalaciones perfectas. El comedor un 15 !!! Para desayunar teníamos de todo y podíamos escoger de todo y más. Una chica todo el rato haciendo tortillas personalizadas, al gustó del cliente, otra haciendo zumos naturales en el instante, otra haciendo huevos fritos con beacon, salchichas, etc.Quesos de todos los tipos, frutas del tiempo para escoger, el domingo ponen Cava, un detalle súper. Embutidos de todo tipo, en definitiva de TODO !!. La cena igual que el desayuno, ESPECTACULAR, la bebida va aparte, y la camarera te pide antes de empezar lo que vas a tomar, pero el vino siempre esperan a que llegue el hombre, y siempre se lo dan a probar al hombre. Creo que no esta bien y que es un tema a solucionar, teniendo en cuenta que es uno de los mejores servicios que me he encontrado, en los años que hace que viajo. Felicidades RIU GAROE, muy que pero que muy bien.

Es un hotel de 4 estrellas. Tiene un equipamiento completo (squash, tenis, mini golf, piscina esterior e interior, sauna,...) Las habitaciones son grandes y limpias. Los trabajadores te tratan de maravilla.Pero no veo correcto que en una media pensión, en un restaurante de 4 estrellas, te cobren la bebida en el buffet, no había ni agua de grifo. La animación nocturna también era un poco pobre y anticuada

Had a week here just before Christmas. Absolutely lovely hotel, kept spotlessly clean by the very attentive and friendly staff. Nothing at all to complain about. Reception and bar staff exceptionally helpful during our stay. We don't really do buffet dinning as we prefer to eat out but there's plenty of choice and it's not too hectic. We did eat out on a couple of occasions. Just along the road there are a few restaurants. We tried Oliver's where we had a lovely meal at a reasonable price. A very friendly place, if we'd have been there longer we'd have been a few more times. It made a nice change from the buffet evening meal.The weather was lovely, sunny and warm. A great start to our Christmas.The majority of the guests are German with just a few British, which was fine.We are planning to book again for the same time next year and looking forward to another lovely relaxing stay.

Low professional staff and direction. They did a disaster on New year's eve organization ofr dinner and celebration paety on 31 dic/2017.They are saying that they sold more seats than what was available, this is what they are saying to people that booked previously in a very low manner and unprofessional way,the director did not have any idea on what was going on, just out of the moon and also shouted at us.We booked for 10 people and then on 28 dic. they are telling us that there isn't anymore space available for us,so we remained without our new year party.Just a bunch of liars and with a bad attitude. The receptionist boss hang up the phone when I called him and afterward when I went there he told me that the phone falled on the floor, without calling me back again.... Just liars.

Segundo año que paso de vacaciones en esta preciosa isla. Del hotel Riu Garoe, solo puedo decir cosas buenas. Trato personal,servicio,limpieza.....todo perfecto. Las dos veces que hemos visitado la isla nos hemos alojado aqui y no dudaria en volver a hacerlo si la visito mas en el futuro.Gracias a todo el personal del hotel y en especial a Juan Carlos del restaurante.

Espectacular. Una semana hospedada y decir que volvería a repetir a quedarme en el hotel sin dudarlo. Desde el primer minuto hasta el último ha sido magnífico. Un personal super amable, recepcionistas, camareros, cocineros, limpiadoras... La comida, muy buena, mucha variedad y muy buen servicio. Ubicado en una zona tranquila, sin ruidos, y no está alejado de los lugares para visitar. Enorabuena a todos, sois encantadores. Gracias

Stayed for a week in June/July 2017. Really peaceful location on the edge of town with a free shuttle bus into the town centre every day except Sunday. Rooms and bathrooms were good size, well furnished and well cleaned. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and when I had a problems with the electricity in my room someone came to fix it in under 5 minutes. Food was decent, if a little repetitive and drink prices were ok (happy hour in the bar early evening). Would definitely check out this chain again as a result of staying here.

Breakfast and evening meals very nice, could personally do with breakfast starting earlier. Lovely gardens and pool area. Quite far out from town which makes it nice a and quite area, with a shuttle bus into town or around a nice easy 15 minutes walk.

Accommodation well presented with large rooms, comfortable beds.I have been to several Riu Hotels and this is my favourite. Beautiful relaxed, hideaway just what we needed. Staff were great, friendly and very accommodating. Although we didn't realise until the next morning, they largely catered for senior citizens so the hotel itself is very quiet. There is evening entertainment provided most evenings. Overall great, enjoyable stay! Thank you very much!

A rich selection of fruits and vegetables suitable for vegetarians. Mostly visited by pensioners but we went as a family with a young child and had a great time. Great value. Highly recommend.

Fantastico hotel con amplias habitaciones, un jardin muy cuidado y muchas actividades por hacer como mini-golf, tennis o hasta un ajedrez gigante. Estabamos en regimen de media pensión, tanto en el desayuno como la cena estaba todo muy bueno con comida tradicional canaria.

Obviamente el propósito del personal no es priorizar la necesidad del usuario, tratarán de que nadie se queje invitándote a una copa de cava y buenas palabras, pero no te solucionan nada.
