“Amazing hotel, amazing location and an incredible staff. If you want to feel like you're hanging out with movie stars while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, then this is your place.
The continental breakfast downstairs is true to it's word, with delicious dishes from all over and great local food too.
Be sure to have a night cap on the first floor lounge/bar where you can enjoy a cocktail, smoke a cigar and feel like you're Winston Churchill.
If you can, book one if the waterfront suites that are named after the famous people that stayed in them.”

“The review box asks how my stay at the Cecil was excellent. Where to start?!?
First, I am American who let her group return to the states from Cairo, and stayed in Egypt alone. I arrived at the Cecil my first day alone in Alexandria and began my adventure. The staff have been the most accommodating and friendly.
Helpful above an beyond. From the front desk staff, to the door men, bar and restaurant staff, even the laundry, have all gone above and beyond their duty to help make my stay more than just a stay in a charming hotel. They have made me completely and utterly welcome.
The food is excellent. The atmosphere is charming and sophisticated. You feel like your are taking a step back in time … everything has been beautifully maintained.
I have extended my stay here in Alexandria in great part because of the staff here, their advice, and their kindness.
To me they, the staff, make the hotel. And they represent the welcoming and beautiful people, and country, that are Egypt.
