“Worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced. In short it’s a great location and beautifully designed, but there are staff issues that could ruin a whole stay. Lengthy review to follow: From pre-arrival I already felt as if this hotel was mismanaged. I called a day prior to my stay to update my reservation - I had two really simple requests but I couldn’t complete them online. When I called all I said was “I need to update a reservation” then I gave her my confirmation number. The associate immediately put me on hold. When she returned she said that she wouldn’t be helping me with that and I should do it online. She NEVER asked what I needed help with, just stated that she wouldn’t be helping me. I said I needed to shorten my stay by one day and then merge my two reservations so I wouldn’t have to check out and check back in mid-stay. It would have taken her 30 seconds to complete but instead she said no and transferred me to reservations. (Please note that a on-property clerk has more authorized actions than a central reservations agent, so if she couldn’t do they shouldn’t have been able to either.) Reservations cancelled my one night, but didn’t merge them. After that exchange I already wanted to cancel my reservation and stay elsewhere. Upon check in I still wished I would have. The check in agent was incredibly unfriendly. I would usually crack this up to “maybe she just didn’t like me” or “maybe I did something to upset her” but I had already watch her interact with someone else, it was just her. There was no welcome, no greeting, and no smile. I believe she was training as there was a woman watching over her shoulder. Even the woman was unfriendly. The least she could have done was talk to us while the trainee checked us in. We had a couple issues with our room. There was no soaps, wasn’t super clean (water spots, hair) and too few towels. Also door wouldn’t deadbolt and refrigerator wouldn’t turn on. Eventually we did visit the desk for more towels and soaps. Fortunately the next shift had two new associates who were much more pleasant. The gentleman welcomed us, smiled, and even made us laugh. Complete opposite of the previous associates. After check in, all associates were great. Preferences and elite status mean nothing at this property. I asked for a high floor, was on 2nd (out of 4). I originally booked a 2 queen but asked to switch to a king if available but was denied (even though king rooms were available) and I didn’t even bother to ask for an elite upgrade (even though upgrades were available too) and we were right next to the laundry room. They also decided to do fire alarm testing at 9am and didn’t bother to tell us beforehand. AGM called after the alarms had already gone off for a at least 15 minutes. Overall was a really disappointing stay. If I stayed again it would only be for the location, being right on the water.”

“Very clean and comfortable hotel. Right off the highway. I was getting tired driving and needed a room that was convenient to sleep and it was great. Service was very friendly and efficient.”
