“Man first time to Arenal and we spent the first half here and it was amazing! The views were amazing and the people were absolutely the best. Friendly, helpful and very accommodating! we spent one day on an all day excursion were we hiked 10 miles and then went to the waterfall and took the 500 stairs both directions and came home sore and when we tried to get into the exclusive hot springs location that everyone said was the best one and they only take a 100 people a day and it was booked. The owner was like let me make some calls and got us in. This is a hotel with a of of history and culture. It is not the main stream commercialized hotel which is what we stayed in the second half of our trip down at the beach and we wish we would have stayed the whole time at the Arenal Lodge!”

“Really enjoyed our stay here. It was very unique, maybe a bit odd, but in the best sort of way. The owner is very nice and helpful - she helped us rent a car and book activities. Our room was fine, nothing spectacular on the inside, but the view of Arenal volcano is probably the best possible view from a hotel in the area, based on its location and altitude. The included breakfast was good, fruit portions were on the small side. The drive up to the lodge is relatively treacherous but very fun. The first few traversals take a while but once you’re used to it you can blast up the hill relatively quickly. Highly recommended, but also a car is extremely necessary”
