“I give this hotel three stars, based primarily on the efforts of the staff to improve on a poor experience. Otherwise, I would definitely rate it only 2 stars. The neighborhood (Palermo) was not very attractive or pleasant: virtually every outdoor wall is covered with really awful graffiti. (I don't understand why the local citizens don't take more pride in their city). Our room was clean, but the bathroom was well below standard, with an old bathtub and a nasty shower curtain. No space to set toiletries. A group of us took up most of the rooms (and had reserved well in advance), but the breakfast provided was not very good. Halfway through the breakfast hour, there was no more fruit and when I asked for it to be replenished, I was told "There isn't any more." I thought this was poor planning and also did not show an effort to save customers' needs. I don't think it would have taken much effort to have more fruit on hand -- or to go out and get more fruit at a local store. We had problems with the A/C and the water, which the owner was not very accommodating about rectifying or giving us a refund. We left after two nights.”
