Truly a wonder of the ancient world, and the principal cultural treasure of the Kingdon of Jordan. It's worth the trip.We spent a day there and only saw the things on the main path. There are many other sites off the main trail. We could have spent two or three days exploring it all.We should have got our admission tickets at the airport when we obtained our visas.Don't forget Little Petra - if you have the time.Water, sunblock, a hat, and good shoes are a must.You can pay to be driven/carried all the way to the Monastery.So many vendors. In some places they ruined the atmosphere of it. But they have a right to be there - It's their home. Just don't buy anything from children.

Es 100% recomendable y deberíais verlo todo y no solo el Tesoro de Petra. Nosotros fuimos cuando abrieron, a las 6:00 a.m. y os lo recomendamos porque apenas hay gente, osea que al llegar al tesoro, hay más respeto a la hora de hacerse fotos, no hay calor y hay la luz ideal para las fotos. También recomendamos llevar algo de alimentos que puedan aportar energía en los momentos más duros y especialmente agua (al menos 1 botella de 1.5L por persona) hay puestos durante casi todo el recorrido por si no queréis cargar con ello, pero saber que es algo más caro. NO RECOMENDAMOS QUE UTILICÉIS A LOS ANIMALES COMO MEDIO DE TRANSPORTE. Si no vas a poder subir ¡no subas! Es una explotación y un trato denigrante el que reciben. El agua lo verán cuando llueva, porque no tienen ni un bebedero. Por último y, y no por ello menos importante, evita las horas de más calor.

¡Petra es impresionante y llama la atención sus colores y el tesoro,su lugar principal es espectacular!Me hubiese gustado ver un mejor trato a los animales que usan para los turistas.

Increíble visita, súper recomendable, es una ciudad completa debajo de las piedras, como recomendación trae suéter y bloqueador, en las partes con sombra hace frio y en lo soleado demasiado calor. Prepárate para caminar mucho!

Very beautiful historical place. Local are relentless in trying to sell you everything from horse/camel ride to jewelry. Pretty much ruines the experience!

Visita obligada si pisas Jordania como turista. Fundada en la antigüedad hacia el final de siglo VIII a. C. por los edomitas, fue ocupada en el siglo VI a. C. por los nabateos que la hicieron prosperar gracias a su situación en la ruta de las caravanas que llevaban el incienso, las especias y otros productos de lujo entre Egipto, Siria, Arabia y el sur del Mediterráneo. Hacia el siglo VI d. C., el cambio de las rutas comerciales y los terremotos sufridos, condujeron al abandono de la ciudad por sus habitantes. Cayó en el olvido hasta que en 1812 el lugar fue redescubierto para el mundo occidental por el explorador suizo Jean Louis Burckhardt (1784-1817). Numerosos edificios cuyas fachadas están directamente esculpidas en la roca, forman un conjunto monumental único, que a partir del 6 de diciembre de 1985 está inscrito en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la Unesco. La zona que rodea el lugar es también, desde 1993, parque nacional arqueológico. Desde el 7 de julio de 2007, Petra forma parte de las nuevas siete maravillas del mundo moderno.

Sitio con mucho encanto y mágico, muy recomendable ir. Eso sí, si estás pensando en coger un guía oficial en castellano, no lo hagas es muy timo para el precio que te cobran, la wikipedia te va a contar más que el propio guia

Absolutely breathtaking!! It was so amazing to visit this place the first time that I had to go back and experience it again. This place really does take you back in time. I visited during August and also in September. Both months were very very warm so plan on wearing loose fitting clothing and bring plenty of sunscreen and water. Definitely make sure you have plenty of time to explore the entire area, I probably spent about 8 hours there and will say that was sufficient time to see what we wanted to see!

Petra is an ancient city that lies in Jordan and dates back to the fourth century B.C. Ruins of the once-great metropolis and trading center nowadays serve as an important archeologic site and tourist attraction. Many people think and consider Petra as one of the wonders of this world. I think it is true- this place is really amazing.

A place of incredible beauty. The rugged landscape, the beautiful archaeological monuments and the friendly and helpful Bedouin make this place a memory that will stay with you for a lifetime. When visiting Jordan, Petra should be at the top of your bucket list.

Muito bonito, uma pena que é um pouco sujo e pessoas ficam tentando de vender coisas de 5 em 5 minutos...

Petra, é uma importante ruína arqueológica da Jordânia, no Oriente Médio. Sua ocupação começou no ano 1200 a.C. A cidade prosperou durante os Impérios Romano e Bizantino, mas dois terremotos devastaram-na, deixando a cidade para baixo. Considerada "Uma das Sete Maravilhas do Mundo Moderno ".

Lugar incrível, repleto de história e mistérios ainda não revelados, realmente esplêndido! Achei o valor do ingresso caro, visto que apesar de possuir um monitoramento através de câmeras,em diversos lugares do percurso, pessoas locais cobram uma espécie de pedágio para que os turistas possam tirar fotos. Acho que falta investimento do governo em um lugar tão mágico e importante da história da humanidade.

Awesome. Petra is a huge place with many things to visit. Bring comfy shoes as this is sandy and rocky if you want to the hike to the Monastery , Treasury views or other amazing views.

Would be nice if there were less hecklers always trying to sell things. I understand that they need to make a living, but having to always be approached and called to buy something, or ride a mule becomes annoying.

Un lugar increíble, lleno de riqueza arquitectónica, y con grandes templos, monumentos y demás. Recomendable. Aunque cuidado con los beduinos son muy pesados con el alquiler de animales y venta de sus artículos, algunos son violentos.

Certamente um dos lugares mais lindos do mundo. Inesquecível a viagem e gosto muito da culinária também.

The Petra Marriott is situated atop one of the higher hills over Petra, so the sunsets are just marvelous. The hotel is clean, the staff is very helpful and gracious, the rooms comfortable and well...
