The location is absolutely great, we managed to reach almost everything we wanted by foot. Easy to find too. The service is very kind and available 24/7. Both reception and room cleaning that comes daily. I will compliment the fact that there are lot of arts displayed around. Also, they have at least a small gym (treadmill, orbitrec, bike, few dumbells) that might come in handy during wintertime. I was delighted to use ut! During summer that small room can get very hot I believe, though. On the other hand there is also pool on the top but it is not heated. So that one is useful only through warm part of the year. There are 7 or 8 floors, and 2 small elevators, so it was easy to get around hotel. The rooms are decorated in old stlye but bear a certain a bit luxory feel to it. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom rather big. Enough storage space, there is also minibar, tv, small safe and a couch. There is no thermostat though and I noticed that there is no toilet brush (just bide). We did not mind, I was just noticing LOL. We did not order food so I cannot review that one. Overall I was extremely pleased with this hotel. However, we did get some sort of discount so it was really EXCELLENT value for the price. If I would be paying over 100 eur per day as in the peak of the season, I would suggest further improvements such as for the gym and rooms to have some sort of hearing/cooling control, a heated pool, and rooms might use a renovations (e.g. refreshing the couch which felt bit old). Others have mentioned the noise from other tenants in their reviews but I did not notice it. Overall I would recommend this place.

We were very happy with our stay in this hotel. The stuff was nice and helpful. The room was small, but clean with some extras that you normally don't get. I would chose it again.

Es un hotel que supera su categoría. El personal, las calidades de los materiales, la atención a los detalles son impecables.Totalmente recomendable en un entorno de Barcelona cercano a la Diagonal y rico en restauración.Respecto a su decoración, me ha enamorado el museo que alberga en su interior, cuadros preciosos de distintos autores nos dentran en otras épocas, lugares y personas. Mi estancia ha sido breve y tremendamente placentera.

El hotel es súper bonito, las hábitaciones muy limpias súbete no son extremadamente grandes. El baño está bien pero un poco pekeño. El único problema es que vivieron por la madrugada otros alojados haciendo fiesta y gritos y nos despertaron a todos.

Hotel con un estilo antiguo. Muy buen trato. Pequeña piscina en la azotea (chiquitina pero justo para refrescarse). Desayuno variado con distintas opciones (pan, bolleria, cereales, fruta, café, te, leche desnatada...). Viaje por trabajo y bien. La habitación bien, si es cierto que extrañe alcachofa en la ducha para no mojar el pelo. Ya he ido en dos ocasiones, tiene una buena ubicación y el trato la verdad es muy bueno.

For every hotel there is the common and, if you are lucky enough, the uncommon. Let me explain. The common: the rooms are clean and priced reasonably. Breakfast is served exactly when needed and the decor is astounding! But for the uncommon: THE STAFF ARE AMAZING. Not only did they recommend which restaurants and attractions to visit, but Domingo (the greatest bell-boy of all time) personally led me to the best hot-dog restaurant I have ever been to, listed his favorite tapas from the Cerveseria Catalana (very good recommendation) and even spent his lunch break teaching my friend and I Spanish to help us make local friends. I will recommend Hotel Astoria to anyone that comes to Barcelona. Domingo and the rest of the staff of Hotel Astoria will live forever in stories I tell my children and my children’s children. I am so grateful my wife found this place and I am so grateful to the people that work so hard to make it what it is. Hotel Astoria, thank you. Domingo, I do not have enough words to express how brilliant and bright a flame you burn in this beautiful world. If you are appreciative of good, authentic, kind, knowledgeable, cultured people then stay at this hotel and ask for Domingo’s recommendation before you make any plans at all. I am seriously astounded- this place is so freaking cool.

Hotel de estilo antiguo, con buenas habitaciones y un servicio atento. No probamos el restaurante. Te guardan la maleta y puedes seguir haciendo uso de todo lo que ofrece el hotel después del checkout. Contentos por lo que pagamos. Está en el centro de Barcelona con buenos e interesantes restaurantes alrededor.

Nice location but the you can hear through the paper-thin walls which made falling asleep really challenging as people are coming and going all hours of the night. Avoid if you're a light sleeper. The first room we were given was different to the images of the room we booked. It was way too small for a couple. The bed was 140cm wide x 180cm long and no more than 3m x 3m. We were given a new room which was refurbished and had 2 x 90cm single beds pushed together. The "swimming pool" upstairs is very small and should be classified as a plunge pool instead.

Good. I stay often for work in the city and this is my reference hotel. Good location, quiet, clean, friendly, reasonably priced. Nice style and good breakfast. Won't make you regret a four stars.

It's a little hard to find (if you know the club) but definitely don't miss it! Service was excellent, so were the different dishes. Had the seafood spaghetti and the fish, everything was delicious. And as a plus, all the walls in the reception room and restaurant are filled to the top with very interesting art work, some people came from the street just to see the paintings! Definitely recommend
