Good hotel with normal breakfast. The rooms are standard Scandic but some of them are rather worn out. Sauna is available of course! And they have locally brewed beer in the restaurang downstairs. In the facility there is a large underground parking with surveillance. Overall a good centrally located hotel to stay at when visiting Lahti. TERVETULOA!

Low on funds, try Scandic. It may not have the same quality as Sokos but it's okay. The mini bar is only available to selected rooms, and the bars closes early....so forget a late night drink before bed. For a Hotel in the city centre, they can do better.

We often stay in Scandic hotels because I'd the great breakfast, facilities, location and price quality balance. The Scandic city hotel ticks all the above boxes too, we really enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel is in the city centre in the middle of everything. Great with kids and if without kids, you can borrow a bike from the reception. The hotel interior is very outdated though, 90's terracotta Mediterranean style. Also there was no air co in the family room and the sun was shining in the room all afternoon. Even with the curtain closed it became quite hot. We ended up sleeping with the window open but it was quite noisy in the parking lot at times. Nevertheless, the price-quality of the hotel is just fine and the staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful.

A visit to Kuopio is a must do on you list. Then stay at one of the very nice Scandic hotels in town. Have a super romantic dinner at the Musta Lammas, and go to Kauppatori for genuin Finnish food. Nice clean rooms and close to center.

Huge hotel lobby, lovable guest room with free Wi-Fi, nice clean bathroom. Unique and romantic restaurant on 2nd floor, attractive furniture which adds nostalgic flavor while dinning there. Just about right location in the city to get around.
