Luxury Accommodations in Newport Beach: Experience the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

If you're looking for a hotel/resort in Newport Beach, this may be one to consider if you get the right room. This location is near popular destinations in Newport Beach, including being only minutes away by car from Fashion Island or the beach. The beautiful Newport Beach Back Bay is a short walk to the north. There's a golf course and several swimming pools on site. The Oasis Pool even has a water slide. The grounds of the resort are really pleasant. There are peaceful fountains and covered walking paths. There is an amphitheater with stage that could be a nice consideration for an intimate wedding, company retreat, or just enjoying the summer concerts. Having stayed here multiple times over multiple years, the quality of the rooms can vary greatly. This latest visit in January 2023 I had the great fortune of staying in the Lido building for the first time. The room was so much more pleasant than previous stays in the Bay Building. If you're booking a room here, make sure to request the Lido building for the best experience.

This was a pretty good place to stay. Room by the main pool very simple, no balcony. The noise from the pool’s water slide pump was right outside our door and it was so noisy all day. Small wooden door between the room and bathroom didn’t allow for privacy. The biggest disappointment was the $36 we paid PER DAY for self parking in their huge parking lot. Robbery! We enjoyed the food and coffee. And loved the hot tubs. Stayed 5 nights. Not sure we’d come back. Maybe a different building would be better.

Stayed for several nights. The location is great but like others have said, the rooms and property are in need of an upgrade. The check in staff weren’t the friendliest but the housekeeping staff were always super friendly when passing by in the hallways. Rooms were cleaned well each day but could use some updated. Popcorn ceiling and TV with Chrome Casting that did not work. Every room deck had a loud AC unit that ruined the atmosphere. Buildings were separate with long walks depending on your room. Showers were slipper and could use a more modern design like most other Hyatt properties have done. The pool was definitely old as well. Nice that they had a slide for the kids but it still felt like you were at a small motel with how everything looked. Valet was almost always a nightmare. Younger teens running it. You already pay something like $40/day but they hang over you until the last second waiting for a tip. The first couple days they were obviously understaffed but still did their best. The last couple days they have 4-5 guys but half of them just stood around talking while everything was backed up. Our last night, we waited in a line forever because no one was moving the cars to the parking lot. They were too busy taking pictures and talking with the owner of some sports car. Really?! Just self park!!! All in all, I’d stay somewhere else next time. Would probably even consider staying at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach which is much newer but more expensive.

Don’t come with high hopes or much expectations. Checked in and had no hot water, so showers were cold. Rooms are out dated. Ceilings are less than 7 feet high. No elevators or escalators so you need to carry your luggage up a good bit of stairs. Staff is sub par at best. Self parking is $34+ a day. Location is why I gave this place the 2 stars. $1100 for 2 nights - very disappointing!! Hyatt do better.

Lovely hotel with very nice grounds located not too far from Newport Beach. Pros - Spacious rooms Friendly staff Nice pool area with towels provided Clean well kept grounds 2 hr bike rental included with room rate Cons - Room was tired and in need of refurbishment Ice machine broken in our block Restaurant and bar quite expensive Parking charge for self parking is $36 per night!!!!!!! On the whole this is a nice hotel but parking charge appears unnecessarily greedy. Out of the 7 hotels we have stayed in on this tour of California this is the only hotel to charge. Disappointing!
