“Hotel could not honor our reservation; they were overbook for the dates we had reserved. What do they do to make it up? A few token calls around town to see if they can find us another hotel to stay at. After an hour of this, they had made no progress. It is not very late at night and the family was falling asleep in their lobby. Did they care? No they didn't. I had to take matters into my own hands and find a place to stay; which I was able to do with 3 phone calls. They new lodging ended up costing more that the original reservation at the Homewood would had cost. I sent an invoice to the hotel for the difference. They denied my claim stating that the new reservation I did on my own and that they were nice enough not to charge me for my reservation.
How would they even consider charging me for a service they were not able to provide? And I would not had to make my own reservation if they were any good at dealing with overbooking issues.
If you plan to stay here, check in early..... If they are overbooked, you will be on your own. They don't care.....
My advice, stay somewhere else.”
