“Room was comfortable and warm. Door to the very small bathroom needed to be repaired during our stay, so we had one day where we had to wedge the door closed to be able to use the shower. Shower curtain was not big enough to prevent water escaping. Had to ask for shampoo, and didn't get a bathmat on our first night. Close to city centre, which was great, if a bit noisy at times. If you want a central, cheap place to stay, this isn't a bad choice.”

“When you look at the photos of this hotel, you think: "Ok, that looks nice."
The shock comes when you enter the room. Even the term 'room' is a real exaggeration. 'Storage room' is more appropriate.
A tiny double bed almost stands in the way of even entering the room. Our two travel bags? We somehow squeeze them in unopened. Opening does not work, we would have to leave the room. Of course there is no chair and no table! They wouldn't have fit in. We close the access door and now find a second door. The toilet and shower are hidden behind it. The shower and toilet share this miserable dark hole, separated only by a shower curtain better known as a 'rag'.
The worst thing though is the smell. Sorry, stench is more appropriate. Window for ventilation. Well, if you call an opening of approx. 30 x 70 cm closed with glass a window... .
Oh, I forgot: there is another balcony that is actually one square meter in size. We could put our travel bags there. Oh, that doesn't work, the door is so narrow that the travel bags don't fit through.
We turned around, checked out and looked for something else.
Ibis Budget, Auckland: an absolute no-go!”
