“Staff that simply could care less (lady at the reception, when we were checking in, didn’t even bother looking at us and gave us the first available room despite numerous requests for another one) . Weak design (looks much much better in pictures)! Room was loud, we could literally hear everyone at the restaurant right downstairs. Overall very little value for the money … we paid circa $575 for the room that at best should have cost $200-250. Generally feels that Marriott tired to do something cool but flopped on its face.”

“I was SO disappointed. Especially given the very expensive price of this hotel. I’ve never written a review for any business/service before, but I was stunned by my experience at this hotel. I have stayed at Marriott hotels many times and had just stayed in another Autograph Collection hotel just a few weeks prior and had a lovely experience - the envoy could not have been farther from the standard set at their other hotels.1. When I arrived (after driving 8 hours) I was greeted with a surprise $100 pet fee (on top of the hundreds of dollars I was already paying for my one night stay). I have never had to pay a pet fee at a ‘pet friendly’ hotel, and had no awareness that this would be expected of me upon check in when I made my non-refundable reservation. This fee is exorbitant given the high cost of the hotel, and I did not appreciate the lack of transparency.2. The room looked beautiful (if rather small, the TV was less than a yard from the foot of the bed). However, looks are deceiving. I took a shower after my long drive and upon exiting, I saw my dog on my pillows chewing on something. I hadn’t given her anything so I was confused. When I got closer, I realized what she was chewing on: A WAD OF GUM. There was a WAD OF CHEWED GUM in my hotel room . On top of this being absolutely DISGUSTING, gum is also HIGHLY toxic to dogs. If I’m paying a high price tag for a hotel room, I expect it to be clean. If I pay a $100 pet fee, I expect my dog not to be POISONED. I alerted front desk staff, and while friendly, they did nothing. No apology, nothing. They basically said ‘yea that’s really weird.’ I even had to request fresh sheets on my own, they were not offered to me.3. Later in my bed, I found a USED CONTACT LENS. I was stunned. I couldn’t believe it. After the gum, and now this, had I not been exhausted I would have demanded a new room. 4. Lastly, when booking the reservation it said there was parking on site available. It did not however say that it was in a parking garage that I would have to pay for myself. It was $40 for one night. Couldn’t believe it. Especially after having just stayed at another Autograph Collection hotel that offered valet service.By far the most negative experience I’ve ever had at a hotel, let alone one that markets itself as luxurious. After this experience, I will absolutely take pause before ever booking with an Autograph Collection hotel again.Additionally, while the hotel claims to be ‘pet friendly,’ it is certainly not a pet friendly neighborhood. Just an FYI.”
